# Suncheon Bay Guide: Garden and Wetland Hours, Tickets, Skycube
Suncheon Bay is two sites on one KRW 10,000 adult ticket: the National Garden and the Wetland Reserve. From November to February the wetland sells tickets only until 17:00, so go there first.
In winter the two sites do not close together, and the Skycube and the bus have cut-offs of their own. This guide puts the hours, prices and bus numbers from the official Suncheon Bay website in the order you will meet them, all checked on October 28, 2026.

Two ways to read this guide. If you are coming from Seoul for the day, read *From Seoul* and then *Wetland first*, because the wetland is the site with the early cut-off. If you are staying overnight, go to *The Skycube* and *The National Garden after 17:00*.
Suncheon Bay from Seoul: the KTX to Suncheon Station takes 2 hours 39 minutes
The fastest way is the KTX (high-speed train) from Yongsan Station to Suncheon Station: 2 hours 39 minutes and KRW 44,000 for an adult standard seat, according to the city of Suncheon. The slower ITX-Saemaeul takes 4 hours 11 minutes (KRW 37,800) and the Mugunghwa train 4 hours 56 minutes (KRW 25,400).
Travel times are the shortest possible, and fares are for a standard seat, adult. Original (Korean): 소요 시간은 최단 시간 기준/요금은 일반실(어른)기준 — Suncheon Tourism · Directions
The Korea Tourism Organization (the national tourism agency) gives the frequency: Yongsan and Suncheon are linked by 23 KTX trains a day, the first at 05:10 and the last at 21:50, about 2 hours 40 minutes each.
Yongsan Station - Suncheon Station (KTX, 23 trains a day, first train 05:10, last train 21:50, 2 hours 40 minutes). Original (Korean): 서울 용산역 ↔ 순천역(KTX, 1일 23회, 첫차 05:10, 막차 21:50, 소요시간 2시간 40분) — VisitKorea · Recommended course
That page does not show a date, so check the KORAIL (Korea's national railway) timetable for your travel day. VisitKorea says tickets can usually be bought from one month ahead at 07:00 until 20 minutes before departure, through KORAIL, the KORAIL+ app, a ticketing kiosk, NAVER Train Booking or KakaoT (VisitKorea · Train).
Allow 5 hours 18 minutes of train time for the round trip alone.

The city lists Yeosu Airport as its air link: Gimpo to Yeosu takes about 1 hour, KRW 70,000 on weekdays and KRW 82,000 on weekends (it varies by day, time and airline). From Seoul's Central City terminal, 17 buses a day run to the Suncheon bus terminal in 3 hours 40 minutes, with the first at 06:10 and the last at 23:30.
From Suncheon Station to the two sites
From the station, one city bus does most of the work. Show the driver the Korean names: 순천만습지 (Wetland) or 순천만국가정원 (National Garden).
| From | To the wetland (순천만습지) | To the garden (순천만국가정원) |
|---|---|---|
| Suncheon Station (순천역) | Bus 66, about 35 minutes | Bus 66 to the East Gate stop (국가정원 동문), about 21 minutes |
| Intercity bus terminal (순천종합버스터미널) | Bus 66, about 40 minutes | Bus 66, 67 or 101 to the East Gate stop, about 30 minutes |
| Yeosu Airport (여수공항) | Bus 96, then bus 66, about 58 minutes | Bus 330, then bus 50, then 731 m on foot, about 1 hour 12 minutes |
The fare is the basic city bus fare. Bus 66 is listed with two different service patterns on the wetland's own directions page: 06:05 to 22:00 about every 25 minutes, and 05:50 to 22:10 about 30 runs a day from the terminal. Plan for a bus roughly every 25 to 30 minutes and check the Suncheon bus information system for the stop you use.
Suncheon Station: walk 243 m to the bus stop, take bus 66, get off at Suncheonman Wetland. About 35 minutes. Original (Korean): 순천역 정류장까지 도보로 243m이동 -> 66번 버스 승차 -> 순천만습지 정류장 하차 — Suncheon Bay Wetland · Directions
One ticket covers both sites, but only on the day you buy it
The two sites are 7 km apart and share one admission system. Adults pay KRW 10,000, teenagers and soldiers KRW 7,000, and children aged 7 to 12 KRW 5,000. Groups of 20 or more pay KRW 6,000, 5,000 and 3,000.
The ticket is valid only on the day of purchase, and a National Garden ticket also admits you to the Suncheon Bay Wetland (7 km away). If you bought your ticket at the wetland, you must show it when you enter the garden. Original (Korean): 입장권은 당일에 한하여 유효하며, 순천만국가정원 입장권으로 순천만습지까지 관람할 수 있습니다.(7km 거리) — Suncheon Bay Wetland · Fees
Re-entry is allowed once a day, and you need a stamp at the exit. Teenagers should carry a student or youth ID. A Suncheon combined ticket (KRW 12,000 for adults) covers the city-run sites for one night and two days, including the garden, the wetland, Nagan Folk Village and the drama set. After 17:00 the garden sells a cheaper night ticket (KRW 5,000 for adults). It does not admit you to the wetland, so skip it if the wetland is on your list (details in *The National Garden after 17:00*).
Wetland first: from November to February the last ticket is sold at 17:00
The wetland keeps winter hours from November. The official table separates the ticket window from the time you can stay inside.
| Months | Tickets sold | You may stay until |
|---|---|---|
| November to February | 08:00 to 17:00 | 18:00 |
| March to April, September to October | 08:00 to 18:00 | 19:00 |
| May to August | 08:00 to 19:00 | 20:00 |
The wetland and the garden are both closed on the last Monday of each month (Suncheon Bay National Garden · Hours). That makes November 30 and December 28 in 2026.
Your winter day in order
From November to February, these are the latest times for each step. Work backwards from the first one.
| Step | Latest time (November to February) |
|---|---|
| Buy a wetland ticket | 17:00 |
| Last Skycube from Suncheonman Station to the garden | 17:30 |
| Leave the wetland | 18:00 (streetlights go off at closing) |
| Last entry to the garden | 19:00 |
| Garden closes | 20:00 |
Take the Skycube from the wetland side by 17:30 if you want the garden the same evening. After that, take bus 66, which stops at both the wetland and the garden's East Gate on its route from Suncheon Station. The Skycube does not run on Mondays at all.

The wetland site warns about the dark.
The streetlights go off at closing time, so you can still move for up to 30 minutes after sunset by the remaining light. Moving after dark is risky, so take great care. Original (Korean): 가로등 불이 마감시간에 꺼지므로 일몰시간으로부터 30분까지는 남아있는 하늘빛에 이동가능. — Suncheon Bay Wetland · Hours
If you reach the gate at 16:50 you can still buy a ticket and stay until 18:00, but you will be walking out at dusk. An earlier arrival leaves more daylight for the longer walk below.
The Yongsan Observatory lookout was newly built in 2025. The wetland says it takes about 30 minutes on foot from the Yongsan entrance.
About 30 minutes on foot from the Yongsan entrance, the lookout shows the reed beds along the S-shaped channel, the glasswort colonies, the sunset and the hooded crane wintering ground at a glance. A boat is the other way to see the channel. The ecological boat runs 6 km out and back in 30 minutes (adults KRW 7,000, teenagers KRW 3,000, children KRW 2,000). A 12 km, 60-minute route to Hwapo costs KRW 12,000, KRW 5,000 and KRW 3,000. Times can change without notice in storms, fog or heavy rain, and there is no advance booking: tickets are sold on site. The boat ticket office is +82-61-749-4059.
Reeds and cranes: the wetland counts 89 winter bird species
In winter the wetland is a reed walk and a bird walk at once. The wetland's own count is 252 bird species, of which 89 are winter visitors, and the hooded crane is the best known.
You can meet 252 species of birds at Suncheonman, and 89 of them are winter birds. The hooded crane, the representative winter bird of Suncheonman, was observed at 8,606 birds in 2025. The wetland posted a notice titled "The 27th Suncheonman Reed Festival" on October 16, 2026. The notice is a set of poster images, and the poster gives the dates as Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, so the 2026 festival is already over. It listed a mudflat race, concerts and bird-watching walks. Unverified: the 2027 festival dates, which the wetland had not announced when this guide was checked; see the notice page or call +82-61-749-3114 before you plan around it.
The Skycube links the garden and the wetland in 10 minutes, except on Mondays
The Skycube is a small automated rail line between the two sites. The official page puts the distance at 4.6 km and the ride at 10 minutes one way.
Garden Station to Suncheonman Station: 4.6 km, 10 minutes one way. Reed Train, Suncheonman Station to Mujin Bridge: 1.2 km, 7 minutes. Skycube ticket holders ride the Reed Train free.
The winter timetable is short, so write the two last-car times down.
| Direction (November to February) | First car | Last car |
|---|---|---|
| Garden Station (정원역) to Suncheonman Station (순천만역) | 10:00 | 17:00 |
| Suncheonman Station to Garden Station | 10:20 | 17:30 |
| Reed Train, Suncheonman Station to Mujin Bridge | 10:10 | 17:10 |
Tickets: adults and teenagers KRW 8,000 round trip or KRW 6,000 one way; children KRW 6,000 or KRW 5,000. Preschool children ride free with an adult. The Skycube is closed every Monday, or the next weekday when Monday is a public holiday. On Mondays take bus 66 instead.
Booking has two catches. Online booking for the next month opens on the 20th of each month, and Garden Station sells 200 tickets per 30-minute slot. On weekends and holidays the garden gate counters may stop selling Skycube tickets because of the queue, but the card-only kiosk at Garden Station still sells single tickets.
The National Garden after 17:00: the night ticket does not cover everything
The garden is open longer than the wetland. From October to June it opens at 09:00 and closes at 20:00, and the last entry is 19:00. For July to September the garden's own page shows 09:00 to 20:00 while the Korea Tourism Organization lists a 21:00 closing, so check before a summer visit; entry ends at 19:00 every day either way.

Do not buy the night ticket if the wetland is on your list, because the official price page excludes it.
Night tickets can be used only for ticket sales from 17:00 to 19:00 and for visits from 17:00 to 20:00. Original (Korean): 야간권은 매표(17~19시), 관람(17~20시)에만 가능합니다. — Suncheon Bay National Garden · Fees

Night tickets cost KRW 5,000 for adults, KRW 3,500 for teenagers and soldiers, and KRW 2,500 for children. The same page lists what stops when a night ticket is issued at 17:00: the zoo closes at 17:00, the Ferris wheel at 17:40, the therapy garden at 17:00 and the Skycube at 18:00, and the wetland is not open to night-ticket holders.

In winter the last Skycube car already leaves the garden at 17:00. A day ticket bought earlier, at either site, is valid at the garden all day if you show it at the gate.

FAQ
Is one ticket enough for the garden and the wetland?
Yes, for the same day. A garden ticket admits you to the wetland 7 km away, and a wetland ticket works at the garden if you show it. The night ticket does not.
Can I do Suncheon Bay as a day trip from Seoul?
Yes, but it is a long day. The KTX takes 2 hours 39 minutes each way at the fastest, so allow 5 hours 18 minutes on trains. From November to February the wetland sells its last ticket at 17:00, so take a morning train and see the wetland first.
What time does the wetland close in winter?
Tickets stop at 17:00 from November to February, and you can stay until 18:00. The streetlights go off at closing, so leave while it is light.
Is the Skycube worth it?
Yes, if it is not Monday: 4.6 km in 10 minutes, and the free Reed Train goes on from Suncheonman Station to Mujin Bridge. Its last car leaves Garden Station at 17:00 and Suncheonman Station at 17:30 from November to February.
Are there wheelchairs or strollers?
At the garden, yes, under the conditions above. At the wetland, call +82-61-749-3114 first.
Before you go: checklist
- Book the KTX from Yongsan Station; tickets open one month ahead at 07:00.
- Check that you are not travelling on the last Monday of the month (November 30, December 28) or, for the Skycube, any Monday.
- Reach the wetland gate before 17:00 from November to February.
- Show the Korean names to taxi and bus drivers: 순천만습지, 순천만국가정원, 순천역.
- Do not buy the night ticket if the wetland is on your list.
- Write down the last Skycube cars: 17:00 from the garden, 17:30 from Suncheonman Station.
- Call +82-61-749-3114 for wheelchair routes at the wetland or for the 2027 reed festival dates.
